WORCESTER COUNTY DANCE FESTIVAL 2017 INFORMATION

How to get involved:
Any dance school or organization in New England, for $65.00 can reserve a 6 minute time slot to perform any style of dance choreography they would like to present to the community. All performers must be at least 12 years of age. The 6 minute time slot can consist of multiple ensemble pieces, duets, pas de deux, etc. (As long as the overall amount does not exceed any more than 6 minutes). Each organization may present only one solo, if they choose, that must be performed by an advanced student/dancer. Note: the entire 6 minutes does not have to be used.
One time slot is recommend for each organization, however, each studio may register for a total of TWO, 6 minute (i.e. maximum amount of choreography present may not exceed 12 min.) time slots and will receive a 10-15 minute on blocking/stage dress rehearsal scheduled on either the afternoon/evening of Friday, March 24, 2017 or morning/afternoon of Saturday, March 25, 2017. Specific times for each studio/organization will be assigned once your studio reserves a time slot. Master Classes will be offered on Saturday, March 24th, including a Guest Speaker/Lecture. Festival Performance will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 7:00pm. St. John’s High School, Robert R. Jay Performing Arts Center, Shrewsbury, Massachusetts. Tickets will be available for general admission purchase. Light post-performance reception for performers/families.
How to prepare:
All participants must fill out and return the Lighting Cue and Tech information form along with music and payment to B.A.W., Inc. 36 Harlow St. Worcester MA. 01605 by February 25, 2017. Online/PayPal registration is available. Program ads are also available, $40 half page, $50 full page. Once performance reservations are full; registration may be closed early so it is strongly advised to register as soon as possible.
A week before the performance all studios/schools will receive a detailed dress rehearsal schedule, performance order and any additional information needed. Dressing rooms will be assigned upon arrival; please be aware due to limited space that dressing rooms may have to be shared.
