Discover!  Dance is a healthy and versatile art form that can help Girl Scouts through their Journeys. It challenges the mind and the body while encompassing other art forms such as Music, Theater, Set/Light Design and Costume Design.

Connect!  Create new friendships, meet new people and build community through dance! Experience the importance of teamwork and how your new found community is important to your new discovery….DANCE!

Take Action!  Find the courage to try something new like dance and choreography. Take action and move your body by learning a dance routine with B.A.W., Inc.  Experience the joy of performing for others and the reward of accomplishment it brings to you!

The B.A.W., Inc Dance Badge Program outline: ($15 per Girl Scout)

Troop leaders are required to purchase the Brownie Dance Badge separately.  Badges can be purchased online at or at the Girl Scout Worcester Store, 81 Gold Star Boulevard Worcester, MA 01606. Call 800-462-9100 x3634 or email for more information.

  • All Troops start with one 45 minute warm up dance class. Loose, yet slightly fitted gym clothes (no skirts please) are recommended with socks or bare feet only. Troop size is limited to no more than 17 members.
  • Troops will then have a 45 minute rehearsal, learning a dance routine consisting of ballet, jazz and hip hop choreography.  Troops will help choreograph the dance moves with the instructor.
  • Troops will immediately perform their routine in front of peers, B.A.W., Inc’s staff, and troop leaders to earn their dance badges.
  • Each Girl Scout will receive a free B.A.W Inc. gift!

This B.A.W. experience offers Girl Scout Troops with or without previous dance training the opportunity to experience a day in the life of a professional dancer.  Ballet Arts Worcester (B.A.W. Inc.) believes that it is important to educate young aspiring dancers about the skills and talents necessary to pursue their dance dreams.

This Brownie and Junior Dance Badge program allows hopeful dancers to discover the beauty of dance as an art form and gain a sense of the excitement, challenge, and commitment that comes along with being part of Central Massachusetts premiere ballet school.
