Modern Dance (Advanced Intermediate/Advanced) -This free form/style of dance allows the body to move in very expressive ways. This class is designed to allow students to experience dance and expression without boundaries and will explore techniques of the great Modern Dance masters. The study of composition and improvisation further develop the dancer’s choreographic creativity and imagination. Students must have prior experience in modern and/or ballet technique.
Dress Code: any colored leotard, footless black tights
Intermediate Ages 11 to 13 one 90 min class/week
Advanced Ages 14+ one 90 min. class/week

Jazz I – This class introduces students to the basic concepts, techniques and styles of jazz dance. Students will learn basic vocabulary, a warm-up specific to jazz technique, along with stretching and conditioning. Simple jazz progressions across the floor and combinations allow students to experience this stylized way of dancing. No prior knowledge/experience is required for this class.
Dress Code: black leotard, black tights, and jazz shoes.
Ages 8-10 one 60 min. class/week

Jazz II/Jazz III (Intermediate) – Class begins with a technical, center warm up of isolations, stretching and conditioning. Correct body placement and terminology based on the technique of the instructor’s area of expertise. Students go on to dance across the floor and learn center combinations, demonstrating technical elements and variety of jazz dance styles and movements. Student must have prior knowledge/experience in ballet technique.
Dress Code: black leotard, black tights/ jazz pants and jazz shoes.
Jazz II Ages 10-13 one 60 min. class/week
Jazz III Ages 14+ one 75 min. class/week
